|UAW Local 1714|
Amalgamated UAW Local 1714 was chartered in August 1970, and granted amalgamated status in May 2005. Our local represents the hourly employees of General Motors Lordstown Complex West, stamping parts for Chevy's most popular vehicle, the Chevy Cruze and also the Buick Verano; and the hourly employees of Voith, sanitation services working in the West plant.
As a Local in existence for more than 40 years, Lordstown is averaging the highest volume of single line vehicle assembly facilities in the world with total production at over 15 million vehicles since production began in 1966. We now represent a little more than 1400 combined active members, and a Retired Workers' Chapter of approximately 2200.
The Local publishes a monthly newspaper-FOCUS, maintains a website, a joint weekly newsletter-TUESDAY TIMES distributed in the plant, as well as keeping the members informed through e-mails.
